One Week Old

It's hard to believe that this time last week I was in the hospital and just had my little man! It's been a wonderful week! One that we will not forget! Jack is doing great sleeping, eating, and going to the bathroom! He is so pleasant and very entertaining! We are so in love with him..I bet I've gave him a million kisses already! He is eating about every 3 hours, and eating about 2 1/2 ounces..which is great! My mom is up here this week helping out and we are having a blast! We are having a great time! Little Man

Here is a little video I took after his first bath last night! We are at home and doing great! Michael and I have never been so happy! (Well except the day we said I Do!) It is so great being parents..

Jack is here!!

On Monday morning I woke up about 6am and I felt like I was leaking water..well I had an appointment later that day so I decided to wait and just ask her about it. About noon I started feeling sick to my stomach..by the time we got to the appt. at 2 I knew something was happening..I started having contractions while we were waiting to see the Dr., of course my bloodpressure was high so when the Dr. did come in she hadn't looked at my chart of symptoms so she told me well I'm sending you down to the hospital b/c of your blood pressure..I was like umm..did you read what else is going on? She got so excited when she read them, and checked and sure enough my water had broken!! We hurried down to Labor and Delivery and we were so excited, we weren't expecting it at all! The started inducing me b/c labor had to get going b/c of my water being broken..so the contractions started coming hard and fast. I lasted 4 1/2 hours without having an epidural..I have no idea what I was thinking!! They gave me the epidural about 7..and it was amazing..after 7 I felt nothing until it was time to push!! Sadly enough I didnt get to push until 4:30am..at 5:02 am..Jack made his entrance to the world!! It was an amazing experience..Michael was a great coach..we are both in love with this little guy! It's hard to believe you can love someone just knowing them for a minute! It is Wednesday and we are doing great, he is eating very well and maintaing his weight! I feel great I have been up walking around, my blood pressure is still high but the nurse says it is because everytime I come in I am doing something ;)..I'm just to excited!! He has a ton of black hair and its so cute! It was so worth going through 9 months of craziness to meet this little man! We will be going home on Thursday. Jack Thomas Murphy has arrived!!!

He made his debut at 5:02 this morning (October 21)
6lbs 6oz
19 inches long

Mom and baby are doing great!!! I'm sure dad is doing well too:) Manda will update everyone when she returns home from the hospital. Everything went well and they are enjoying some R&R at the hospital....

One More Week???

Well another doctors appointment down, and its the same ole' song and dance! We went in luckily my amniotic fluid levels went up so that was a plus! We then met with the Dr. and of course my blood pressure was high! Imagine that?!?!?! Michael went with me today and he is going to continue to go with me to each appointment b/c we keep thinking any one could lead to a baby! He was laughing b/c all the nurses in the office and even the ultrasound tech knew me by name hahaha..they are about as ready as I am to see this baby!! I got sent down to triage in labor and delivery to be monitored for a few hours just to make sure when I was laying down it went down..and of course it did! So I am still on strict bedrest until my appointment on Monday..which can't get here fast enough! Michael and I talked that we def. didn't think our labor/delivery/pregnancy story was going to go like this! We do however have our bags packed and we are ready to go! They want me to make it to 38 weeks which is next week..so hopefully I can hold out one more week..and then I am going to BEG!! Thanks for all the prayers we appreciate it! And if you need any updates on your favorite TV shows just ask me, b/c I have probably watched them!

Seriously...

Well on Tuesday I went in to do more lab work and ended up being admitted to the hospital for my 2nd time! This morning I got a major ultrasound done..which is showing my amniotic fluid is a little low..I am now showing that I have protein in my urine which is exactly what the Dr. didn't want to see..and of course my blood pressure is still sky high..it's amazing really..however that little baby boy in my belly is doing great!! The ultrasound tech this morning must have realized how bummed out I am getting and did a 3D Ultrasound..wow..it was amazing..he had his little hand up by his face most of the time but boy is he a cutie!! It reminded me just how lucky I am..I am getting very emotional lately which is soooo odd for me..but I think it's just to many emotions going at the same time. I am on strict bed rest which means I can take a shower for 5 mins..they did release me from the hospital this morning and said it won't be much longer they just want to take it day by day and try and keep him in there as long as possible..which I understand. We go back to the Dr. in the morning (and yes they all know me by name..) to get another ultrasound done to check my fluid levels and to check my blood pressure and protein levels..if the protein levels go up anymore they will induce..sooo..God is def. teaching me patience and kindness..b/c it's hard to be nice and understanding right now ;) Thank you so much for all your texts and phone calls...we will keep you posted..I know many of you can't wait to meet this little guy!! I will update after my appt. 2mr!! I will be 37 weeks 2mr which means they can induce anytime! So we have finally made it..any day now and I will be a mom ;)

And we are waiting...

Well the Dr. wasn't going to see me until Wed..and she called this morning and was like I need you to come in..So, I went in my blood pressure was 160/100..so I had to rest and it finally dropped back down to 140/90 which is yes still high..I have gestational hypertension..which means at this time I do not have preeclampsia..however I am going to be closely monitored b/c it could develop at anytime. I will have appointments twice a week and do 24 hour urine tests and labs again. I did get an ultrasound today and Jack is doing great! He was weighing in at 6 pounds 15 ounces..and she said he was perfect ;) No more dilation still at 1cm but she said things were def. progressing since last week..so that is good! She wants me to try and make it until 39 weeks..which would put him being born on Oct.30 (yes I am smiling..I may get my Halloween baby after all!!!!) but if things don't shape up with me being on bed rest or if preeclampsia shows up he will be taken immediately. So please keep praying for us, it's crazy to think that anyday now I am going to be a mom!! Michael is ready too..he was ready like 2 weeks ago! I will keep you updated!

Not what I wanted to hear...

**Update 10-9-went back to the Dr. to get more labs done and turn in my 24 hour jug..got my blood pressure tested and it was 143/90..still up..so now we are just playing the waiting game on my labs and everything to come back..someone asked me if I was worried..but not really..God already knows the plans he has for Michael, Jack and me..so I know it's in HIS hands ;) So no I'm not worried..maybe a little anxious though ;)**

Well today was my 36 week checkup OB appointment..and I was feeling really good about it. I finally felt better after being placed in the hospital 2 weeks ago..I was also excited that there was only 4 more appointments until my due date! Then they checked my blood pressure..it was very high 150/100...which isn't good..so I had to go lay down on my side..hang out for about 30 minutes without moving..and they re-tested it. It was 130/90..so it had went down some. However this is the third week in a row at my appointments that this has happened..it always goes down when I lay on my side/rest..but when they had me get up and walk around the office it shot back up. My Dr. is so awesome..I love her..she says to me.."I won't be getting a Christmas card from you this year..b/c I am putting you on bedrest until Wednesday when I see you again...then we will talk about the situation then." Sooo...that is not what I wanted to hear today..but thankfully Jack is doing great in there..he is dropped down and I am dilated 1cm..and the Dr. said that he can come anytime now and be just fine. She also said today that we would talk more on Wednesday but he would be making his appearance before November just b/c of the way things are going. They also did alot of blood work today..and checking my thyroid again since I had LOST weight at this appointment!! Please pray that Jack just gets here safely and that God's will be done...we can't wait to meet him..

Jack's Room is Ready for Move-In!

I promised the grandparents I would post some pics of the room and all the stuff in it! I finally got everything organized (haha...as organized as it can be) and put away this weekend! Maybe it was a little nesting..or maybe my husband is organized and thought I should be too..haha..So here is some pictures..we had a great weekend, last night we ate dinner with our friends the Balsam's they are some of the most amazing people we have met here in Louisville, we are very encouraged by their marriage and the way they are raising their 4 children!! God has blessed us so much by knowing them! We are thankful that we go to such a fantastic church, that has so many wonderful christian people who follow God's will daily! This will be my last week of having a full time job..I am going part time..and then I will be staying at home with my son! I am so thankful for a husband who works hard so that we can manage this!

Max is excited about being a Big Brother..ok maybe not so much ;)

Michael said this closet looks like a 6 year old cleaned his room haha..It's the best I could do...

FIVE

Yes that is correct in 5 weeks, Mr.Jack Thomas Murphy will be here! That is crazy for me to think that 35 weeks has already passed by..last week I went to my normal check up and ended up getting put in the hospital and moniotored for 24 hours! My blood pressure was up and I had some other symptoms that worried the Drs...luckily everything got better..I was very sick though..infection and a virus all in one..and that was causing my body to act crazy! My mom came up here and of course that made it better..she said I was just pretending and I just wanted her up here..which was not the case..b/c it was very hard to see her go! I had my 35 week check-up today and everything was looking good..I told her I was ready to be done with pregnancy! I guess right now I am feeling very anxious and ready...last night Michael was feeling the baby move and he was said it was like an alien was inside of me..just so weird feeling..and of course his movements are very strong and powerful..I like playing guess that "part"..today though the doctor told me Jack has dropped which takes some pressure off my chest so that is good news! That means he is getting ready to arrive! So now we are just waiting..I wasn't dilated any..but she said that could all change in a weeks time or more! I'm just praying for God to get him here safely..but quickly ;) Hope everyone is having a good week! I also will be posting some pictures later on this week of the nursery and other things now that they are coming together!
