Turkey Tuesday

Jack went to his one month old checkup today! He is doing great! He weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds 8 ounces! And measuring 20 1/2 inches! He is growing so fast! The past couple days we've been having a tough time with him screaming at each feeding, so Dr.Al gave us some Zantac today and we are hoping that will take the acid reflux away! I don't like seeing him in pain ;( Other than that he is perfect in every way ;) I have begun the packing process for myself,Jack and Max..I took for granted how easy it was to throw my stuff in a suitcase and go, but now I have another body to pack for. Thank Goodness Michael packs his stuff! We can't wait to get to Paducah and see everyone!
Since this is Turkey Tuesday, here is 10 things I'm thankful for..there are so many more, but these are the most important.
1)My salvation
2)God, and the freedom to worship Him
3)My Husband, Son, and my dog Max
4)My wonderful family
5)Our great church, and church family
6)My husband's job
7)Great friends
8)The country that we live in, and the freedom that we have.
9)Another wonderful year of life, and the many blessings I've had this year!
10)And this seemed important to me this year, but I'm thankful for gas prices going down! It makes things so nice.

On a funnier note..
I was washing dishes last night when Michael had me come in the living room b/c of this..Jack was happy as he could be wrapped in his daddy's vest, watching the KY game..I just thought it was hilarious..the things my husband comes up with...

Turkey Monday

I couldn't wait to get a jump start on my blog for CHRISTmas.. if you know me, you know that I love CHRISTmas..everything about it..so since my husband won't let me decorate yet..this is good enough for me! However, I decided to do a few posts this week leading up to Thanksgiving..I am SO excited to come to Paducah, and bring Mr.Jack! On Sunday we took Jack to church for the first time! He slept the whole time..yep he's a Baptist ;) Next Sunday we look forward to taking him to Rosebower to see everyone there! Jack is to young to be in a room at church, so this is how he spent his Sunday morning..with Mrs.Angela! She is in charge of all the little children at church, and Jack just loves her! (Oh..might I add that that is how Mrs.Angela spent her WHOLE morning at church haha)To start off my Thanksgiving week, I decided to name a few things I love about Thanksgiving..

1)Family..I love being around all my family, and sharing a special day with them. I love playing cards, spoons, and just hanging out.
2)Food..I am really picky but there is some food I like..ham,macaroni and cheese, and rolls..there are also some special things I like that only certain people can make..sweet potatoes and dumplings..
3)Tradition..I love having traditions..on Thanksgiving morning I get up watch the Macy's Day Parade (to see the Rockettes) and then off to Grandmother's house for lunch, then to Mamaws at 2 for lunch..on Friday I always go back to my Grandmother's to eat leftovers and play cards..
4)The Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade!!! I love all the dancing, singing, and floats..some day maybe I will make it there in person to see it! My favorite part is the Rockettes..my sweet husband took me to Nashville last year to see them perform..they are amazing!
5)Past and Present..Remembering our loves ones who have passed on..and now this year celebrating that Jack is here and his life
6)And the most important..being thankful that God has blessed me with all these great things..and that God sent his son, Jesus to die for me on the cross, that I may have this new life in Him..

Visit from Dad..

I thought that baby kinda looked like Jack ;)

He LOVED the museum..haha
We were playing a game..and my partner was 3 haha

I love this guy!

They were in love with Jack..they didn't know what to think about him..

Well this past week my dad and his family came up to visit! It was super nice to be able to spend time with them! I feel like we all grew closer! On Tuesday we went to the Children's Science Museum and it was such a great time! Jack of course slept through the whole thing..but that's okay, the other kids enjoyed it! It was a super busy week with them, we swam at their hotel, went to the Falls of the Ohio, and the science museum! Thank you guys for coming up, we enjoyed it. This weekend we have a few things going on but mostly we are going to be resting up for Thanksgiving! We are going to have 4 busy days, down there! Here is a few pics from this week...

Busy Busy Busy

Well we are one day away from Jack's one month Bday!! Are you serious? Where has the time gone already? The past week has been great..my mom, sister, and step-dad came up this weekend and it was a great time. My sister stayed with us and on Saturday we watched movies and ate cookies all day ;) It was awesome! Jack had a kinda rough couple days..he started "projectile vomiting" on Thurs..he did it twice but on Friday when he did it..it was all over Uncle Jordan (sorry!)...we think it's b/c Uncle Jordan had on U of L stuff..but who knows? Jack had to be put on Pedialite for 24 hours..and since then he's been just fine ;) The Dr. seems to think he was just having some tummy problems! I'm just thankful he is feeling better! Tonight we went and celebrated Jordan's 21st birthday at Red Robin, it was a great time..and of course I forgot my camera..what kind of mom am I??? I am enjoying not working..it's actually pretty crazy b/c I haven't even thought about the face that I'm not going back to a job..but that's okay I think I have lots to keep busy with! Next month I am going to start training for the Derby marathon..yes I'm crazy..but it's worth a try right? I am super excited..I have songs on my ipod and I'm ready to run! Michael has been working hard..and I just love him more and more each day ;)....My dad and his wife and kids are here in Louisville this week..it will be great to spend time with them, since our visits home are so brief..other than that the Murphy's are ready for Thanksgiving and to see family..oh and did I mention I bought(ok my mom did) Jack his first Christmas book ever..one of my favorites.."The Night Before Christmas"..

It's a beautiful life..

Well I'm a huge fan of Jon and Kate plus 8 and the past couple weeks, they have shown them traveling to Hawaii to renew their vows, so their kids can see how important marriage is! They have this great commercial that they show of them getting ready and they play this song that's playing on my blog "It's a beautiful life" by Fisher..I love this song..and I always sing it to Jack..anyways I was so excited to find it and put it on my blog ;)
Today is Mr.Jack's 3 week birthday! I can't believe he's been here for 3 weeks!! Last night was his first night to sleep in his room..It was a sad night for me..haha..I did sleep better though! Michael has been working crazy hours the past two weeks, so this past weekend we did nothing and just hung out..it was great. I love my husband and my son, God has truly blessed me. On Saturday my friend Erin came by, she was visiting from Paducah..and of course it was great to see her, we have been friends for almost 26 years ;) Our bdays are 21 days apart, and ever since we can remember we've been friends, the funniest part though was her and Michael were big buddy's growing up as well..and b/c of that friendship, Michael and I are married today ;)
On Sunday night our friends Nick and Alyssa came by with their son Micah who is 3 months older than Jack..it was sooo fun watching them both..I've put a picture of them..Micah of course looks like a giant compared to Jack..but I am sure he will grow soon!

An update on Jack:He is fallen into a 3 hour routine..he usually stays awake for about 3 hours around 11am everyday..and then again at about 5..so it makes it nice to enjoy him while he's awake..he's eating 4 ounces, every 3 hours..so he is trying to grow! He still just cries when he gets his diaper changed, so all in all he's perfect! We go back to the pediatrician the 25th..so it will be neat to see how he's grown..we are excited about Thanksgiving, but seriously thinking we are going to have to have a schedule just so we can fit everyone in, so if we only get to see you for a few hours don't be sad, please! We are going to try to make this an easy trip that way we don't dread coming to Paducah, we do have almost 4 families to visit with, in 3 days! But we do look forward to seeing everyone! That's all for now, enjoy the pictures and the song ;)

Jack enjoyed watching UK play Saturday..even if they lost ;)~MM

50 Years..

.......If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails....And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.1 Corinthians 13:1-8a and 13

My grandparents are celebrating 50 years of marriage today. I have watched them both very closely growing up..probably there every move ;) I am so blessed to have them as my grandparents..they have both taught me many things to keep with me as I go through life. But this example of love and marriage is so important, b/c they both have Jesus in their lives. They know that only by loving God and putting him first, will the marriage thrive. They showed me that love can survive anything..and with love everything is possible. I know they have had hard times, and will still have hard times to come..but they know the secret in keeping the marriage strong. I thank God for both of them and their testimony to me and Michael and our marriage.

1 Corinthians is one of my favorite verses in the bible, and it's always nice to reflect on it. Thank you Grandmother and Grandaddy for showing us that "I Do" can last forever ;) We love you both and wish we could be there to celebrate with everyone!! Thanks for being so great and letting your light shine ;)

Trick of Treat

Well it was Jack's First Halloween and he slept through most of it! We ended up going to the Fall Festival at our church and meeting up with some good friends of ours..it was a great time. And it was so good to see all of our church family, and we even met new friends last night! Here is a few pics of Jack's Halloween..so far he has had 20 visitors up from Paducah..and we are having 2 more today! We are so thankful for the gifts and visits! My mom stayed up all last weekend and was a huge help! We appreciate it very much..it was very hard to see her go though! On Sunday Michael's mom, dad, and sister are coming up, we look forward to the visits, his mom will be staying with us for a week, then we will be on our own! I think we are ready though ;)..Also, I am a huge Sarah Palin fan..I just think she is marvelous! Last week our music ministers wife,Jamie and her son Jonathan went to hear her speak in Indiana..that is all the details I am going to give you b/c there is so much more to this great story and I want you to go read it! We chatted with her at the fall festival last night and I was so amazed to hear how great Sarah Palin is despite all the negative things we hear about her..go to http://patrickparadigms.blogspot.com/ and read her incredible story!.
