Water!

I took these pictures with my phone..I couldn't stand not having these sweet shots of them! I plan on getting a small pool for the porch, but for now we are using Jack's baby tub (he's to big for it now anyways)..it was so much fun. They both cried when we came in!! I just can't wait for summer!

Busy! Busy!

Good news to all of you Paducahians who are dying to see how cute Jack is, I've got a new camera battery on the way! So, hopefully it will arrive within the next few days before his First Derby!! ;)..After missing pictures from the balloon glow & Blue/White game..Michael said we must order one! He also said Happy Mother's Day..hmm..a new camera battery for Mother's Day..guess it's something I need and want! I'm super excited about May we have a lot going on in May..I get to celebrate my first Mother's Day AND our 4 year wedding anniversary! WOW! 4 years have come and gone, it's been an amazing 4 years! We also are attending a Derby Party this Saturday, which will be tons of fun! Also in May the pool opens!!! I wish the pool was open today b/c it's suppose to get up to 86'!! Holy Cow! Saturday we went to the blue/white game in Lexington and had a blast! There was about 20,00+ fans there, and the light breeze made the hot weather bearable! Rachel&Jeremy went with us and we had so much fun! Little did we know Coach Calipari was there with Patrick Patterson, we didn't see them, and in a way I'm glad b/c what if I had missed a pic of Jack with them!! Michael probably would have been upset ;). It was a wonderful family weekend, yesterday we attended church then hung out inside most of the day, Jack and I did get in our 2 mile walk though! This week is fairly calm until the weekend arrives! As soon as that battery arrives I will get some pics on here!

Glow

Last night we decided to take advantage of a beautiful night and head out to the Balloon Glow, this is a part of the Ky. Derby Festival and I've wanted to go every year and we never have. So this year I decided was the year to go! It was great fun, according to the papers about 60,000 people were there. The winds were pretty strong so the fun didn't last very long, but we got a good 30 minutes of seeing the Hot Air Balloons glowing ;)..We also got to see the UofL balloon get loose and float into the night sky..that was pretty scary, since the UPS planes were taking off so close to the Glow..Luckily the 2 people in the balloon were safe and landed in a field. So, after that incident most of the balloons deflated and ended the party. We ended up staying for a while after the balloons deflated and just talked. It was alot of fun! Poor Jack fought and fought not to go to sleep, he did NOT want to miss anything. The Glow didn't start until 9pm, so a little past his bed time. He was amazed by everything going on, they had strobe lights going in the sky plus the balloons..plus the people..he finally konked out while Michael was holding him! Eli was a trooper though, he stayed up the whole time! Hopefully next year the winds won't be as strong so we can enjoy it more! It was a fun family outing, Thom's parents and brother went with us as well. Today we are heading to Lexington to go watch UK do their spring practice game! It will be so fun, since it's beautiful weather today. Rachel & Jeremy Thomas are going with us, so we can't wait to have fun with them! Also, when I worked at the bank every year we would sell Derby pins, my friend Susan and I always hoped to get a gold one becuase you got to enter in the grand prize drawing. And when I bought our pins this year for the Derby events, luck would have it and I got a Gold one! I kinda felt like Charlie after he found his golden ticket haha..So, I'm entered in the Grand Prize drawing, the 2nd week of May they will be drawing twice a day for different prizes..I've never won anything like that so it would be cool if I did! It doesn't take a whole lot to excite me! Here is a few pictures I got off the news website of the Glow..

I'm really starting to get mad about my camera situation..Jack is probably glad that I don't have one! Hopefully in the next couple weeks I can buy a battery ;) Enjoy ;)

Ouch!

Jack went to his 6 month check up today! He looked great (besides his runny nose and coughing)! Jack weighed in at 17 pounds, 8 ounces..and was almost 26 inches long! (It's really hard to measure a 6 month old, who just wants to put his feet in the air!) She said by the next appointment at 9 months, Jack would be crawling! I felt dizzy as she said these things..my little tiny baby growing into a big boy?? Jack is almost sitting up by himself..if something happens behind him though he turns to look and tumbles over. I also witnessed him taking a toy away from Eli today..poor Eli looked at me like..Jack's not sharing!! So, I thought how do I tell a 6 month old not to take toys away? But I did..might as well start the sharing/don't snatch toys away speech now.Jack took his shots like a real man, he only cried for 5 seconds then it was over. I just got some news that Michael's Papaw Joe had a heart attack. I don't know any more details yet other than that, so please keep him in your prayers. Thanks!

6 Months Old..

Wow! I can't believe Jack is 6 Months old today!! Where has the time gone? It has been an incredible 6 months and we are beyond in love with this sweet boy! Here is some facts about Jack at 6 months!

He puts everything in his mouth..if he can reach it, it goes to his mouth.

He loves playing pat-a-cake.

He smiles all the time..

He has a ticklish back.

He loves bath time, and playing with his toys in the bath.

He likes to "try" and drink out of the sippy cup..he's getting better at it!

He "spits" constantly..we try to get him to say sounds..but he just "spits". (this too shall pass..)

He loves to eat..he's great at eating solids!

He likes to reach for Max..but Max doesn't like for him to pet him ;)

He learned that if he does a fake cough, he will get your attention!

He would rather stay awake all day, than miss something while taking a nap..(this too shall hopefully pass...)

If he's holding on to your fingers he will pull up into a standing position..he loves to be standing!


Jack is an amazing baby, I can't wait to see what the next 6 months bring!!

Finally!

I have been terrible at updating my blog this past week..it's been almost 10 days! I apologize..we have been SO busy that I haven't even had time to stop and breathe until last night! We have been enjoying this beautiful weather and man it's been great! I love spring time when it finally gets warmer! Last weekend Jack's MiMi Murphy came to visit and we had a wonderful Easter dinner on Saturday with them! On Easter we went out to eat with my cousins Brittany & Ryan..oh and Uncle Jordan tagged along as well, it was so nice to eat and not worry about cleaning up, although next year we decided Jack will be older so we will have to have a EGG hunt!! I have zero pictures from Easter..once again I'm sorry..I still haven't bought a battery and it may be a while..so I just get other people to take pictures ;) On Friday we went to the Zoo with the Oedy's and Scott's, and thankfully Diana brought her camera so I got some pics of Jack and his bud's Eli & Lana! This past weekend my Mom and sister came up b/c she had a volleyball tournament up here. It was nice to get to hang out with them even if it was for a moment! I'll take all the moments I can get ;)I just got done checking the weather.and we are going to have some GREAT weather this week! I'm beyond thrilled! Friday night we are going to the Hot Air Balloon glow..then Saturday we are taking Jack to his first UK Football game!! We cant wait to go watch UK at the Blue/White game, especially if theirs a slight chance Calipari will be there!! Jack already has a UK football shirt ready to go, we are looking for him a UK hat too! Jack is going to be 6 months old tomorrow! I cannot believe it..I'm thinking I might cry..it just doesn't seem like 6 months have already passed us by! He is getting bigger and bigger each day! He is now determined to try to reach things so he can put them in his mouth..and he does anything to get you to laugh at him!! We go on Wednesday to get shots and our check-up so I will no more then about weight/height..but he's still a wonderful baby and he has a great personality! Well this is my update for the day..my Dad is up here in LVille for a checkup so we get to see him today for a moment!

Zoo Fun!

We had a great day at the Zoo yesterday with our buddy Eli! Jena is up here visiting and so she helped me take both of the boys to the Zoo AND some VERY nice people(thanks!) bought me a Zoo pass for a year..sooo we can now go anytime! So exciting! We got some very cute pictures thanks to Jena's camera (since mine is still out of sorts,I'm to cheap to buy a new battery haha). We ended up staying at the Zoo for almost 4 hours..but it was alot of fun! Jack HATES the sun being in his eyes so his MiMi Murphy bought him some cool shades..

They really enjoyed swinging in the swings..can you believe Jack is BIG enough to be in a swing!?!??!! Oh goodness almost one week until he is 6 months old..WOW! Also, he has no socks or shoes on b/c he kept kicking them off ;)
Then Uncle Jordan decided to give Jack a new food to try out...

The ear infection is finally clearing up some. We had 2 sleepless nights this week, and last night he slept from 9pm-830am..its truly a miracle..God heard my prayers..b/c I was in need of sleep! Hopefully we are over it,and can now move on to bigger and better things..like getting some teeth in!

Also..isn't God just amazing..I'm just so thankful today that he sent his Son to die for me on the cross! As I was reading my bible last night I came across this verse..

Blessed is the man who listens to me, WATCHING daily at my doors,WAITING at my doorway. For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord...

(Proverbs 8:34-35)

And so I begin thinking..am I watching and waiting or just living life day to day? God was truly speaking to me last night about this. I believe I should be watching and waiting every day for new opportunities to witness to others..and for Him to return someday! Isn't it great that we know He's coming again? So, this Easter weekend let's remember that we are here for a short while..but while we are here let's be WATCHING & WAITING..for no one knows when our day will come ;)This will be my last post until after Easter..we are going to enjoy our family while they are here..and enjoy our "Louisville" family on Easter.. Have a Happy Easter!

Green Beans&Bananas

Food Food Food..Jack loves eating his baby food! We actually just added in lunch so now we are eating baby food 3 times a day. In a few weeks we actually go up from #1 food to #2..it's hard to believe 6 months ago he was still in my belly! He is the sweetest boy ever! Today I had to take him BACK to the Dr. after a sleepless night..his ear infection never got better from a few weeks ago. So, we went back and got a stronger antibiotic. I'm hoping this works b/c Jack is miserable, which makes my heart hurt! So just a little update. We are going to the zoo tomorrow with our BFF Eli! It will hopefully be a beautiful day!

There's No Place Like Home!

What a great week of fun in Paducah! We had such a great time, but we are a little worn out ;)..ok alot worn out!! Jack has been super fussy all day today..I'm pretty sure he's just super tired!! Of course my camera is out of sorts sooo the only pics I got of the whole week were at The Woodruff's wedding on Saturday! Jack was super good, and was pimping in his new Easter/Wedding outfit! We got to visit everyone and see lots of family while we were there! Thanks for all the meals,clothes,and fun while we were down there! The Murphy/Wolfe family is gearing up for our annual Destin visit in a few months! And we all can't wait!! I'm so ready to put my feet in the sand! This is Michael with 2 of the 3 buddies he grew up with in Paducah..Jarrett (the groom) was taking pictures so I couldn't get one of all 4 of them! It was fun being around these guys for 2 days! It was alot of fun visiting..but I'm glad to be at home in my bed! I get Mr.Eli back tomorrow and I can't wait to see him! Thank you all once again for the hospitality you showed all 3 of us! We look forward to another visit...sometime!
