Love is..

This is an email I received probably 3 years ago..I've kept it b/c this is so true. I love 1 Corinthians 13. Michael is out of town all week, and was sick all weekend so it's pretty much just been me & Jack. It's amazing the strength God gives us to keep going. God has also put so many people in our lives that help out, and God knows right when we need them. I'm looking forward to a much needed vacation. I'm also looking forward to opportunity's that God is putting in my lap, and I can't wait to be able to be able to share them(no matter the outcome). It's hard keeping secrets sometimes haha. It's been a wonderful week so far! At the bottom as promised there are pics of Jack's teeth. This is the best 2 pics out of probably 40 that I've taken of his teeth. haha Enjoy!
1 Corinthians 13 for Moms
I can read bedtime stories till the cow jumps over the moon and sing "Ten Little Monkeys" until I want to call the doctor--but if I don't have love, I'm as annoying as a ringing phone.

I can chase a naked toddler through the house while cooking dinner and listening to voice mail, I can fix the best cookies and Kool-Aid in the neighborhood, and I can tell a sick child's temperature with one touch of my finger, but if I don't have love, I am nothing.
Love is patient while watching and praying by the front window when it's 30 minutes past curfew.
Love is kind when my child says, "I don’t like you anymore!"
It does not envy the neighbors' swimming pool or their brand-new mini van, but trusts the Lord to provide every need.
Love does not brag when other parents share their disappointments and insecurities, and love rejoices when other families succeed.
It doesn't boast, even when I've multi-tasked all day long and my husband can't do more than one thing at a time.
Love is not rude when my spouse innocently asks, "What have you done today?"
It does not immediately seek after glory when we see talent in our children, but encourages them to get training and make wise choices.
It is not easily angered, even when my 15-year-old acts like the world revolves around her.
It does not delight in evil (is not self-righteous) when I remind my 17-year-old that he's going 83 in a 55-mph zone, but rejoices in the truth.
Love does not give up hope.
It always protects our children's self-esteem and spirit, even while doling out discipline.
It always trusts God to protect our children when we cannot.
It always perseveres, through blue nail polish, rolled eyes and crossed arms, messy rooms and sleepovers.
Love never fails.
But where there are memories of thousands of diaper changes and painful labor(s), they will fade away.
Where there is talking back, it will (eventually) cease. (Please, Lord?)
Where there is a teenager who thinks she knows everything, there will one day be an adult who knows you did your best.
For we know we fail our children, and we pray they don't end up in or therapy, but when we get to heaven, our imperfect parenting will disappear.(Thank you, Lord!)
When we were children, we needed a parent to love and protect us. Now that we're parents ourselves, we have a heavenly Father who adores, shelters us and holds us when we need to cry. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Pool & Backpack

Wow! Thank you everyone for the cards, emails, and phone calls on our 4th anniversary! We actually sat at home, ate leftovers and just hung out. (told you we were laid back)..We planned on going out this weekend, but some things have came up..and now Michael is going to be out of town next week!! He will be back on Friday just in time to pack things up, and head to the BEACH!!!! So, we plan to celebrate our 4 years of being Mr&Mrs. Michael Murphy in Destin ;) As for Mr.Jack he is just amazing as usual! I bought a pool this week so we could play in it..

As always he has something in his mouth..doesn't he look so big? Wow! I can't wait to take him to the beach! It will be his first trip out of state! Here is Jack with his new backpack..
It's as big as he is!! But very cute! We are going to take it easy this weekend, probably hang out at the pool and just enjoy this weather!

Four Years...& 7 Months ;)

Wow! I cannot believe Michael and I have been married for 4 years today!! It's been the Best four years of my life, I can honestly say that! Michael is the most amazing husband, friend, and Christian guy, I'm beyond blessed to have him in my life! The funniest thing is that alot of people doubted us getting married at first, everyone thought it was "to fast", for us to get married. I knew the weekend I met Michael up here in Louisville, that he was "the one" for me! And my love for him never changed! I'm not going to say the past four years have been perfect..but they have been great! He is so supportive of everything I do, and he believes in me. We also grew even closer I feel like when Jack Thomas was born last year. It was as if our family was really beginning. Growing up I always wanted a marriage like my grandparents/& great-grandparents have, and God has given me that marriage. I love going to church on Sundays as a family, and just being together. We are probably the most laid back couple you will ever meet. I also can't believe I've lived here in Louisville for 4 years!! It's been amazing though. I thank God everyday for my wonderful family.
Also, on a side note Jack Murphy is 7 months old today!!! He's growing so fast. He has 2 teeth in, and the top 2 are on the way! What a big boy. I will hopefully post a pic of his teeth soon, it's very hard to get a picture of them!
Have a wonderful day.

(For you elderly folks who can't read what the picture says (ha Grandmother)..it says
"a mother's love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible"
Jena sent this to me yesterday, and let me tell ya..it's exactly what I needed. After a week like I had last week..it's truly the truth..no matter how tired I am or how sick I am..I can still keep pushing on, to make sure my family is taken care of ;) ALSO..as I started thinking about this..you know you can change the caption to-
"God's Love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible"
..now that is even more truthful. Without God in my life I couldn't do a whole lot..I could get mad, upset at all the bad stuff that comes my way..or I can turn to God and put him in control. It's just a thought to ponder on this beautiful Monday God has given us! Thanks Jena for the sweet pic and reminder.

Silly Boy

Here is a video I took of Jack while we were eating yesterday..he was in a comedian mood..so I decided to do a little video for the Paducahians..since it's been a WHILE since we have seen most of you. Remember we do accept visitors..In less than 2 weeks we are going to be laying on the beach, soaking up the sun, and believe me when I say I can't wait!! The past 2 weeks have been HORRIBLE..Michael has had to work sooo much, and I've been on the go alot..so we haven't got to spend hardly any time together. Hopefully we can get a chance to go out to eat for our 4 year anniversary next week!! Have a good weekend..as usual Michael is working today..;)

Moms Day, right?

My First Mothers Day was just great! Jack was so excited that I was his Mom, he wanted to show me by waking up at 2:30AM on Mothers Day. His poor little teeth are hurting him right now, and I guess he just wanted me to hold him. I didn't know that I would have to hold him until almost 6AM that morning..but..he kept waking up screaming. It was a great reminder of how much I love this little guy!(not to mention a reminder of how much I love caffeine). My husband though was very sweet, he woke me up with breakfast "in the couch" (yes, that is where I ended up falling asleep), a pack of instant oatmeal, that I could make for myself. (HA) Needless to say, we swung through Burger King on the way to church so "mommy" could wake herself up with a fountain Diet Coke. We then arrived at church, I was slowly waking up, and was greeted by my lovely 3 & 4 years olds, eager to tell me what they did for their Mom's and to learn "the rest of the story" about Joseph. By this point my eyes were wide open and I took the Xtreme preschool on full force. I survived the morning at church...but let's just say some others didn't..Yes, they are snoozing in the BYE BYE BUGGY..guess who else was riding in the BIG BOY BUGGY?!?!?!?!?! (no, not me)

Yep, that's right Jack Murphy!! Doesn't he look thrilled? He actually loved it, doesn't he look so big?
After church, Michael,Jordan,& Jack took me out to eat at O'Charleys(ok ,actually GMom & GDad did, which by the way we all thought of yall while eating) but it was nice to be surrounded by family. Then Michael,Jack, & I came home and took a family nap (oh, & Max). So, the night ended with a wonderful bible study with friends, and bed. I did miss my family, and the fact they were all getting together yesterday day..but I did love my day to celebrate being Jack's mom. I take pride in being his mom, and always will. It's so amazing how your whole life changes after having a baby, but I love it, and I'm so glad God blessed me with my sweet family.
On a side note, Jack is doing so much right now! I feel like every day he learns something new! Right now he's putting everything in his mouth..and he's been acting really...well, how can I say this nicely..

Oh, well that works..yes he's been a little "crabby" lately..he puts anything & everything in his mouth, and his teeth really hurt if they get ahold of you the right way. He is sitting up like a big boy all by himself, and holding his bottle by himself.

We are entering the independent stage of life, in just 10 short days he will be 7 months old! AND Mommy & Daddy will be married 4 years. What a wonderful life. God is good, to those who love Him ;) Enjoy..and Enjoy Jack's Video.

Here is the last pic..most of you should have recieved your card by now. I will post more about how much I love being a Mother on Sunday ;) I do love all of you ,Mom,Michele,Courtney, Grandmother,GrandMom,Mamaw,Meme Marshall,& Meme Phelps. I look up to all of you and I'm so glad that you are all here to love Jack and us. I am going to miss spending Mothers Day with you all, but I'm also excited to spend my day with my sweet family. I also found this quote on one of my friends blogs..

"You know," she said, "even if she weren't my mom, I would go out of my way to be friends with her."

This was on one of her calendars that she has..and it's so true about my Mom,Mom-In-Law, & Step-Mom. God blessed me with such a sweet family.

Well this is all b/c it's making me sad that I don't get to see you all on Mother's Day.

Hope you enjoyed your cards ;)

Tuesday

As promised here is a new pic of Jack from our photo shoot! One of his teeth has actually broke through the skin..it's so exciting each morning to see. I'm one of those people who LOVE before & afters..so this is alot of fun for me!! Murphy North (Michael,Jordan,Jack,& I) are counting down the days until Florida!!!! Last year I was pregnant with Jack..and I broke out in a rash, and I couldn't ride the crazy waves with John..so I'm definitely looking forward to this year!! And I know John is ready to have his wave riding partner back!! I'm still thinking about para sailing this year..I asked John last year if he would go with me, and he said yes..so we will see!! My Dad & Courtney came and stayed with us last night, b/c Dad had a Dr. appointment this morning. It was so great to see them, and see how great Dad is doing!! He was looking so good..almost like normal. What an amazing feeling that is!!! We are hoping his appointment goes well today..they are going to look internally again, to see if everything is okay!! I'll try to update again this week! I'm looking forward to my First Mother's Day, I'm sure Michael has something great planned (HAHA) ;) Also, please be praying for me I have a new opportunity that God has put in my path, and I'm trying to seek God's will even though the Devil keeps making me think negative. Hopefully I will be able to share this opportunity by July..;) (and no there's not another baby on the way!!!) Enjoy!

Sneak Peek..

Today Jack and I had a little photo shoot..it was amazing. God has blessed us with such a beautiful child, and we are so thankful! I'm only going to post one of the pics b/c I don't want to spoil our cards we are sending out for Mother's Day ;)..I will post them all by the end of the week. We had a wonderful weekend! Jack was kinda fussy most of the weekend, his 2 front teeth are about to pop in..I can see them through the skin!! We enjoyed helping our friends move on Friday night, we have got to enjoy so much with them in this season of their life, and we are thankful for that! Saturday we rested, went to church, then headed to The Allen's ABF (adult bible fellowship) Class Social for a Derby Party! It was SO much fun! I actually laughed so hard I choked! It was fun as we all huddled under blankets to keep warm. We can't wait until the next social! (Did I mention Jack ate 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies there??) Yesterday was a typical Sunday..we went to church, ate out with Rachel&Jeremy ( I think we pretty much hung out with them all weekend haha), then last night I went to the women's bible study that I'm doing with The Allen's ABF..we are reading through "Lie's Women Believe..and the Truth that Sets Them Free"It is going to be a great study, with a great group of women! I've gotten to know most of these women by working downstairs in the Children's ministry. It was a wonderful weekend, and we are SO blessed with such great friends here in Louisville! Everyone has been asking us if we are coming home for Mother's Day..and the answer is no..;( We have so much going on right now, that it's hard for us to come back at this moment. We do love our Mothers, Grandmothers, and Great-Grandmothers..but we just can't come to visit. However..we would LOVE for you to come visit us!! We will never turn down company! So, here is a sneak peek of Jack's photo shoot..
Enjoy!
