Turkey Gobble Gobble Trot .Trot. Trot...

A little Thanksgiving humor from my buddy Tim Bertram..Tim married Michael and I..and I LOVE his family dearly. I also love Tim's cartooning..and I think he should do it again!! Tim is very talented..and I'm so thankful for him!!

We of course are staying in Louisville for Turkey Day this year..each year we have went to Paducah and been so stressed out that we have truly missed the meaning to Thanksgiving..This year we look forward to relaxing and actually enjoying the day without arguments,going from one place to another, feelings getting hurt..etc....just a day to be thankful for all God has done for us!! We also need some rest because in 8 days we will be in Disney World!! How exciting! Of course I will miss my family and being together, this will be the first Thanksgiving in 27 years that I'm not there..but we feel what's best for our family is to stay here in Louisville.

I am so thankful this year for so many things! I don't even know where to start. I am thankful that I know Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior..I'm thankful for my husband and everything he does to provide for our family..I'm thankful for the sweetest & cutest son in the world..I'm thankful for our HUGE family and all the love they give us..I'm thankful for my church family as well ;)..and this year I'm thankful for the little things in life. (I'm also thankful that I get to watch the WHOLE Macy's Day parade without having to leave and go to someone's house..) So, even though we won't be with our family this year at Thanksgiving, we will miss you all and I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving ;)

Defeated..

I realized I haven't posted in a while..that is how busy I am. I also realized yesterday I was not in the Christmas mood..or not even in the mood to be thankful. That is when I realized that someone was trying to make me feel defeated..my heart has been so heavy this past week..for so many people, so much going on, and being sick has not helped either. That is when I realized the devil was trying to defeat me..

I'm sure we've all felt this way a time or two..why isn't our prayers being answered, when I'm practically CRYING out to God..why does bad things happen to those good people?..and why oh why do I feel like God isn't listening? Have you been there? That was me this week..an emotional war going on inside my heart. Then today..I finally did what God was telling me to do all along.."to be still..and to listen"..isn't that hard to do though? Here I am asking,asking,asking..and not once stopping to listen. Mark 14:38 tells us to "Watch and Pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak". Wow..right there God showed me that he was listening...and matter of fact..he already knew ;) Isn't it crazy to think God already knows the outcome of EVERY situation..every breath!! I can't imagine not having Him to lean on.. on Monday I celebrated being a Christian for 5 years...I will never forget that special night when I asked Jesus to be my Lord & Savior..so that I know this world is not my home!! I'm not living the unknown every day..but I'm living to glorify God..and boy, I can't wait to go Home ;) I am so thankful for my ladies at bible study this week..I'm thankful we are a "prayer warrior team".I am also thankful for my church family..what a week we have had..crying over a loss of a sweet child..rejoicing over the Armstrongs passing court in Ethiopia..and over Josiah and the Bidwell family, finally a family of 4;) I'm thankful God listens to my crazy prayers sometimes..he has blessed me with so much ;) Have a wonderful week and remember if you are ever feeling defeated to "be still..and listen" ;)

November ;)

I cannot believe that it is November! Where, oh where..has this year gone? I am loving this weather! I'm thankful that we are having beautiful fall weather, especially since October was so RAINY! We are gearing up in our household (only 28 days) for DISNEY WORLD!!!! Oh my..I cannot even think straight right now b/c I'm so excited! Christmas & Disney are two of my favorite things..and it will all be wrapped into one month..(might I add my wonderful birthday also falls in December (yuck,I'm old)..) I might pass out from excitement!!! We have been enjoying every second of the days God has given us the past few weeks, I love playing outside! Here is a few pics to share with you all..

Fall Festival

What a busy week the Murphy's have had! Wednesday I helped host a party for over 600 people ;) Our church, does a Fall Festival each year and Rachel and I were in charge of ours at East Campus. We arrived at 8am that morning..and departed at midnight that night! Boy was it fun!! We are so blessed with a church family who are so willing to give..one of the families donated their time and HOT AIR BALLOON..I must say it was a hit. I was SO excited to be able to take a small trip up in the balloon. I never dreamed Jack Thomas would want to ride in it, but he did ;) It was so fun. Thanks to everyone who helped out!!

I'm so happy November is here! I look forward to relaxing a bit..and getting ready for December which is SUPER busy!! We did not take Jack trick-or-treating last night ;) We ended up going to play games at my Aunt Brittany & Uncle Ryan's house and just taking it easy ;) He will go trick or treating next year though ;) Enjoy!
